Saint Mary’s historic, residential 23-acre campus is within easy driving distance of world-renowned Research Triangle Park, the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and several institutions of higher education -- including internationally recognized North Carolina State University, Duke University and the University of North Carolina. The school lies just blocks from the state capitol and downtown Raleigh. You can walk to museums, art galleries, restaurants and churches. Called a "city within a park," Raleigh boasts lots of fun things to see and do. You’ll never be bored. The Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts offers Broadway shows, concerts and ballets. Attending these performances is a great way to unwind. And you’ll love watching Saint Mary’s drama and music students perform on occasion at Fletcher and Meymandi Halls in the Center.

Within easy walking distance of Saint Mary’s School, Cameron Village’s tree-lined walks, restaurants and one-of-a-kind shops beckon you. The RBC Center hosts college sports rivalries and world-class hockey with the Carolina Hurricanes, as well as concerts and performances. What’s your favorite getaway — the mountains or the beach? Each is about two or three hours away in either direction.

These are just a few of the many reasons that Bloomberg Businessweek ranked Raleigh number one in their first ever "Best Cities Ranking". Read the article released in September 2011 here.
