Meet the SGA: Caroline Brinkley, Vice-Chair of the Judicial Board

Before they skipped out for summer vacation, we took some time to get to know the newly elected members of the 2012-13 Student Government Association (SGA). Each week, we will introduce one member and share their thoughts on all things Saint Mary's. This week we feature Caroline Brinkley, from Raleigh, NC, who will serve as Vice-Chair of the Judicial Board.

What activities have you been consistently or actively involved in at SMS?
Ladies in Blue, Judicial Board, Dance

YOUR SMS EXPERIENCE

What is your favorite SMS tradition?
Lighting O’ the Grove (or LOG as we call it at SMS)

What has been your favorite class in the last three years? Why?
Christianity with Ms. Luhm. It made me realize that I want to major not just in Biology, but also in religious studies.

Why did you come to SMS?
I loved the community, the traditions, the friendships made, the academics and the overall feel of the school.

What are you most looking forward to as a member of SGA?
Planning events with the SGA, participating in SGA traditions, serving as the vice-chair of the judicial board and getting to know all the SGA girls better!

What are you most looking forward to as a senior?
Senior Day, graduation and all of the senior traditions!

ADVICE TO NEW STUDENTS

What advice would you give to a new incoming student?
Be confident in who you are and don’t be afraid to be yourself.

What do you wish you had done sooner?
I wish I had jumped in and gotten involved sooner because you meet so many people and experience so much more that way.
