Need-Based Financial Aid

Saint Mary’s School is dedicated to making a Saint Mary’s education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds.

Saint Mary’s School is proud to use the Clarity Application to help determine a family’s level of financial need. Saint Mary’s accepts financial aid applications on a rolling basis, giving priority to families who meet the deadlines below. Applicants and returning students who are interested in need-based financial aid must apply each year with current financial information. The following dates are the priority deadlines for the 2024-2025 school year:

New Families (awards are communicated at the time of admission decisions)

applying for Early Decision must submit their fully completed financial aid application by December 10, 2023.
applying during the regular enrollment period must submit their fully completed financial aid application by January 30, 2024.

Returning Families (awards are communicated with the re-enrollment contract on February 2, 2024)

must submit their completed application by December 15, 2023.

U.S. Students: Financial Aid Application Process

Step 1: Sign up for Clarity.

Step 2: Complete your household and applicant information using Clarity.
Before you begin, gather your household’s basic financial information. Complete your financial information, including income, expenses, assets, and debts. The financial aid application typically takes less than 30 minutes for a household to complete.

Step 3: Submit your Clarity application.

As part of the Clarity application, you will sign a Form 4506-C to give Clarity permission to pull your prior year tax return. This means you will not have to find and upload the information yourself! If applicable, you may be prompted to provide additional tax documents or forms. There is a $60 fee per household to apply.

All international families must complete the Clarity application to the best of their ability including the Non-US Tax Filer Verification information. There is a $60 fee per household to apply.

Seasonal Boarding

Seasonal Boarding is available for local day students.

2023-2024 DATES FOR SEASONAL BOARDING

Fall Season: Aug. 20, 2023 - Oct. 27, 2023 Winter Season: Oct. 28, 2023 - Feb. 16, 2024 Spring Season: Feb. 17, 2024 - May 24, 2024

The Saint Mary’s School community enjoys a vibrant 24/7 campus, alive with after-school activities, athletics, community service projects, weekend outings and performance opportunities.

We offer our day students the opportunity to expand their Saint Mary's School experience by participating in the school's seasonal boarding option.

Available in coordination with our athletics seasons, (fall, winter, and spring), seasonal boarding gives day students the opportunity to fully experience residential life at Saint Mary's for part of an academic year. Students may participate in up to two sessions of seasonal boarding per school year. All day students are eligible to participate; however, 9th grade students must wait until the winter season to participate.

Payment Options

All students must submit a signed Enrollment and Tuition Payment Contract with a non-refundable reservation deposit to secure their enrollment for the school year. The reservation deposit will be applied to the cost of tuition. Beyond that, families can choose from a range of payment plans to find the one that best fits their financial lifestyle.

Single Payment Plan

Saint Mary's School encourages all families who are able to do so, to make a single, lump sum payment by July 1, prior to the start of the school year.

Semester Payment Plan

Tuition is paid in two equal payments, July 1 and December 1.

Monthly Payment Plan

Payments to be made in equal monthly installments beginning in May, or in the month following enrollment, whichever is later. Equal monthly installment payments will be calculated and billed so that tuition is paid in full no later than January 31.

Loan Options

Families may choose to spread out the payments for tuition over more than nine months through a low-interest loan from a third-party designed specifically for independent secondary schools. Please contact the Business Office for more information about loans.

Parents and students should understand their financial obligations as outlined above and in the Enrollment and Tuition Payment Contract. It is understood that students are enrolled for the entire year, or such portion as may remain after the date of enrollment. The fact that fees may be paid in installments does not constitute a fractional contract.

Merit Scholarships

Saint Mary's School offers four merit-based scholarships each year.

These scholarships are solely dependent on an applicant's merit and do not consider a family's financial need. Students who apply for a merit scholarship are also eligible to apply for our need-based aid assistance. Applicants must adhere to the deadlines and listed requirements in order to be considered for these scholarships.

Tuition Insurance Plan

Tuition Insurance Plan provides a way for families to protect their tuition investment and assist them in meeting their financial obligations in the event of an unexpected withdrawal of their daughter from the school. Under the plan, tuition insurance is required for enrollment at the school; however, if a family chooses to pay their full tuition by July 1, the tuition insurance plan becomes optional for enrollment. The cost of the Tuition Insurance Plan is approximately 2% of a student’s tuition (or that of tuition due following the award of financial aid). Please click here for more detailed information.
