Prospective International Students

Applications for Saint Mary's boarding program for the 2023/2024 school year are currently being accepted!
Admission Requirements
International students applying to Saint Mary’s School must possess a strong command of English. We do not offer English as a Second Language (ESL), so our students must be prepared to meet the demands of a competitive curriculum in English. In addition, we are looking for applicants who have a strong desire to engage fully in the Saint Mary’s community, whether through sports, music, dance or clubs. Our goal is to provide an environment where international students truly feel that they are having an “American high school experience” and where English is the common language for all students.
To that end, only 10% of our students are international, ranging from 5-10 international students per grade. Within each grade we are deliberate in selecting a group of students who represent different geographic regions and cultures.

Saint Mary's School welcomes applications from qualified international students on a rolling basis through the summer, as space allows.

A completed application for admission consists of the following items:

  • A completed online or paper application
  • $100 application fee
  • Official high school transcript(s)
  • Teacher recommendation forms
  • Satisfactory scores on the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)
  • An internet-based TOEFL score of 90 or above. PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept the SLEP or TOEFL, Jr.
  • A personal interview. Interviews can be completed on campus or via SKYPE

Applicants will be notified of Admission decisions one week after applying.

Important Information Regarding I-20s

In order to accept our offer of admission, all admitted students are required to complete the online enrollment forms and submit a non-refundable enrollment deposit. In order to obtain an I-20, tuition and fees must be paid in full. We will not mail I-20s until payment has been made in full and the payment has cleared. Therefore, please do not schedule your visa interview prior to May 20 in order to have time to make payment and receive your I-20. If you are currently attending a school in the US and need to have your I-20 transferred, please give your school official the SEVIS code, ATL214F10254000, for Saint Mary's School. All I-20s will be shipped via UPS.
