Saint Mary’s began the 2020-2021 school year with two weeks of virtual learning for all students before resuming in-person learning for most students from September 8- November 20. The school finished the fall term with a three week period of virtual learning for all students between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday breaks and one week in January 2021 before returning once again for in-person classes. We have remained in an on-campus, socially distanced, in-person learning environment for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Should there be a stay-at-home order or other circumstances related to COVID-19 necessitating the closure of Saint Mary’s campus for any length of time, the school will pivot and return to a virtual learning environment, as needed. At this time, we are planning an in-person, socially distanced, on-campus commencement ceremony for Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Saint Mary's students successfully completed the 2019-2020 academic year through online, virtual learning. Diplomas were conferred upon the members of Saint Mary's Class of 2020 in a virtual senior recognition ceremony on May 17, 2020. A virtual commencement event took place on July 24, 2020 in accordance with local and state guidance.

"I am so grateful to Dean Owen, the faculty, and the administration of Saint Mary's during this trying time. Your decisions are well researched, thought out, and regularly communicated. In these times of uncertainty, it is comforting to have institutions proceeding in ways that are adaptive yet true to the 'normal' mission."
