Commencement 2020

Saint Mary’s School Class of 2020 graduates had diplomas conferred May 17, 10:30 a.m., in a video senior recognition ceremony during which they were declared graduates and instructed to turn their Saint Mary’s rings with the seal pointing out towards the world they are entering.

The May 17 virtual ceremony featured remarks by Head of School Brendan J. O’Shea, Board Chair Dee Williamson Marley ‘77HS, Class of 2020 President Emma Wharton ’20, Dean of Teaching and Learning Leslie A. Owen, and Dean of Students Timothy P. Healy.

On-campus commencement exercises were delayed to July 24; however due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions, the July 24 graduation celebration was held virtually and include the presentation of student awards as well as remarks from the Class of 2020 valedictorian, senior speaker, and special guest Merritt Atkins ‘99, co-chair of Saint Mary’s Alumnae Council. Each member of the Class of 2020 was highlighted. Many graduates and their families drove through the Grove for individual, socially-distanced photo opportunities and diploma pick-up.

Congratulations, to the 85 members of Saint Mary’s outstanding Class of 2020.
