Day of Service

Martin Luther King, Jr.
Day of Service
Monday, January 15, 2018

Saint Mary's School observes Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a day of service on January 15, 2018. Again this year, The United Way of the Greater Triangle partners with Saint Mary's as a volunteer site for its MLK Day of Service. Students participate on campus with the United Way as well as at other community locations as follows:

Students volunteer on campus with The United Way participating in projects including:

  • Making soup mixes, rice bags, and bean bags
  • Making no-sew blankets
  • Creating literacy materials
  • Loading the truck with finished items

The items are distributed to Raleigh-area agencies focusing on basic needs and education. For example, Urban Ministries of Wake will receive the soup mixes to help stock their food pantry shelves through the winter months.
