Forever Campaign
Saint Mary's School's Forever Campaign exceeded its $75 million goal, receiving more than 13,000 gifts from 6,537 donors. Contributions from Saint Mary's School's alumnae, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, friends, and community partners also included 12 seven-figure gifts and 73 six-figure gifts during the campaign. Thank you for helping secure Saint Mary's future forever.

On Thursday, November 13, the Saint Mary's School community came together to celebrate the extraordinary success of the Forever Campaign—and the lasting impact it will have today, tomorrow, and forever. Thanks to the generosity of thousands of alumnae, parents, friends, and partners, the Forever Campaign became the most successful fundraising effort in Saint Mary’s history, securing our vision for generations to come. At the heart of every milestone we honored stood one simple truth: it all happened because of you—our generous community.
Launched in July 2018 with an ambitious goal of $75 million, the Forever Campaign set out to sustain and strengthen Saint Mary’s mission for the future. Its vision centered on the development of a comprehensive Campus Master Plan—one that would foster academic innovation, create inspiring spaces for learning and creativity, and ensure long-term financial stability through debt reduction and endowment growth. As Saint Mary’s first truly comprehensive campaign, Forever recognized support across all areas—capital and endowment gifts, unrestricted Annual Fund contributions, and planned gifts alike.
The results were remarkable: more than 13,000 gifts from 6,537 donors, including 12 seven-figure gifts and 73 six-figure gifts. More than half of all donors were Saint Mary’s alumnae, who together contributed over $57 million, while 600 parents gave a collective $4.5 million. Every year, 100% of the Board of Trustees participated, contributing more than $6.6 million, and full-time faculty and staff achieved 100% participation in six of the seven campaign years. Nearly 1,000 friends and partners—including businesses, foundations, and community organizations—added another $6.7 million in vital support.
By the time the campaign concluded on June 30, 2025, Forever had surpassed its goal, raising a total of $76,032,682. More than 40 projects were completed, and the endowment grew from $24.4 million to a record $41.67 million. These incredible achievements ensure that the Victory Bell will ring for Saint Mary’s forever—a testament to the unwavering commitment of our community.
Our celebration last evening reflected the spirit of this historic achievement. Guests enjoyed captivating performances by Broadway star Nikki Renée Daniels and the Saint Mary’s Chorale, along with a brief program, cocktails, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. The evening also featured a very special moment as Forever Campaign Co-Chair Ruth E. Perry Holding ’81C received the John Bratton, Jr. Volunteer Service Award. The night concluded with a champagne toast and fireworks over Nimocks Field—a fitting finale to a truly unforgettable celebration.
Goal: $75,000,000

The Blanche Robertson Bacon Performing Arts Center
Dedicated on Friday, November 7, 2025

The Blanche Robertson Bacon Performing Arts Center was dedicated during an all-school ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, November 7. The Blanche Center includes the renovation of the historic Eliza Battle Pittman Memorial Auditorium, a Raleigh Historic Landmark that opened in June 1907, with the addition of a modern atrium event lobby linking the auditorium to a new arts classroom building. This $19.5 million renovation and construction project began in 2023 and was funded with gifts to the school’s successful $75 million Saint Mary’s Forever campaign that concluded on June 30, 2025.
The Blanche Center is the first major school building constructed on our historic campus since 1972. Together, the three structures – Pittman Auditorium, the new Harriet Matthews Jackson ’73HS Atrium, and the new arts classroom building, which includes the First Citizens Bank Theater – comprise the newly named Blanche Robertson Bacon Performing Arts Center. This wonderful space will primarily host school performances, assemblies, speakers, and special events, as well as offering members of the Raleigh community the opportunity to enjoy performances, concerts, lectures, and more in the facility.
The fusion of the original Neoclassical Revival architecture of historic Pittman Auditorium with the modern design and infrastructure of the 21st-century facilities comes together beautifully in the Blanche Center to represent the best of Saint Mary’s rich 184-year history and our thoroughly modern and innovative educational program of the present and future.
Over the coming days and weeks, we can’t wait to welcome students, employees, and the wider school community into the space and begin our journey forward in this incredible facility.

Campaign Overview
We know the power of one vision - a vision building on the legacy of our historic campus, leading the field in educating girls, and boldly eliminating our debt while strengthening our financial position. Armed with confidence, Saint Mary’s embarks on a campaign to embrace our past and propel us into the future.
Under the leadership of Frank and Ruth E. Perry Holding ’81C, William and Aurelia Monk, Nancy Kerr Thomason ’73HS ’75C, Anna Zevenhuizen ’07, and Mike and Gloria Taft Becker ’92HS, Saint Mary’s Forever Capital Campaign Steering Committee has devised a campaign strategy to ensure the realization of the campus Master Plan and the sustainability of Saint Mary’s mission and vision for future generations. With the help of Raleigh-based campaign counsel Armstrong McGuire, campaign planning is focused on strategies to provide the resources to meet the objectives of the campus Master Plan.
While details of the campaign plan continue to be refined, the steering committee’s initial work has led to critical funding priorities:

There is only one Saint Mary’s. It is a place of unique and powerful value for every girl who steps through its gates. It offers a transformative experience that unites women through time, place, and generations. It has the power to not only change lives but to change the world.
