Jennifer Moran, instructor of voice, director of music, and academic chair, has taught voice at Saint Mary’s since 2003 and has directed the Chorale since 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Meredith College and a Master of Music from the Hartt School of Music. Ms. Moran has worked for several opera companies in New England and has taught private voice lessons for more than 20 years. As a choral conductor, she has also worked at Christ Church in Raleigh. She has volunteered as a choral conductor at the Junior League of Raleigh and with Wake County Public Schools.

Ms. Moran is a Raleigh native who has loved living most of her life in her hometown. She married her college sweetheart, Jim Moran, and they have three children – daughters August Moran '15 and Isabel Moran '21 and son Smith Moran. The Morans have a two Labrador retrievers and a cat.

Ms. Moran loves being outdoors and has run some 20 marathons. Most of all, she loves making music and creating art with colleagues and students.

“There is something unique and special about every girl at Saint Mary’s,” says Ms. Moran. "Their dedication to learning and personal growth is rare and inspiring. Whether a student in my class has never been part of a choir, or she is looking forward to a career in the arts, each singer has a way to contribute significantly to the success of the Chorale. Everyone has an equal and clear value in our mutual and artistic endeavor. Because of the girls’ ownership of their purpose, they accomplish more than I could hope for or imagine each year. Their music is an expression of love and a powerful voice in a world that needs to hear them.”
