Teresa Assenzo is the director of visual arts at Saint Mary’s School, where she has been teaching since 2004. Ms. Assenzo has taught art in a variety of settings including the Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts and Western Michigan University where she taught in the department of teaching and learning as well as in the art department. 

Ms. Assenzo graduated with a B.F.A. from Kendall College of Art and Design. She holds an M.F.A. from the California College of Art, and an M.A. in counseling psychology and a teaching certificate from Western Michigan University. She is a certified teacher in the State of North Carolina.

In addition to teaching art, Ms. Assenzo is also a professional artist and illustrator who has published three books and has participated in group as well as solo exhibits. In addition to creating and teaching art, Ms. Assenzo is also interested in art and pet therapy.
