The Young Women's Leadership Institute creates a warm and inviting community where students can thrive academically and socially.
Living arrangements are thoughtfully designed to foster connections and collaboration. Attendees will stay in Smedes Hall, a beautifully renovated historic building dating back to 1842. This residence hall accommodates up to 60 students and features five residential faculty apartments and four cozy student lounges. The Long Student Center on the lower level offers an array of amenities, including several lounges, a kitchen area, a game room with ping pong and pool tables, Aldert’s Corner snack shop and the school store, shop1842. Students can find quiet study spaces by the fireplace in the elegant Smedes-Emory Parlor and the cozy Smedes-Williams Parlor.
At the heart of our program is an extraordinary curriculum that prioritizes experiential learning and hands-on activities. We empower young women to cultivate essential leadership skills, boost their confidence, and flourish as future leaders. Our engaging activities are designed to be transformative, offering valuable experiences applicable to all aspects of life.
